Does it cost any more to book a yacht through Just Yachts?

the short answer is no. Our commission is paid by the yacht owner or their agent that manages the yacht for the owner. You pay the charter fee set by the yacht owner.

Why use a Charter Broker?

Firstly they are free. It does not cost you anything to use the services of a Charter Broker. You stand to gain the experience and knowledge of the Charter Broker who has knowledge of the destinations the Yachts and the Crew. We can advise you so that you can concentrate on making your holiday plans.

Is tipping the Captain and crew expected, and if how much should I tip a charter captain and crew?

Your Captain and Crew will work hard to ensure you enjoy your charter. If you are happy with the level of service you have received it's customary to pay 10% to 15% of the charter fee. The Captain will allocate it to the crew members for you.

Is food and drink included?

Your holiday is taylor made to your own requirements. Therefore no two holidays will be the same. The standard way to manage this is to let the Captain have an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). This account will be used by the Captain to cover all you expenses including food and fuel used. The Captain keeps a record and receipts for all expenses. This allows the Captain to provision the yacht with your favourite goodies.

What sort of payment protection do I have?

There are different standard contracts used by the industry depending on where you charter. We can let you have sample contracts if you like. You pay an initial fee and the remainder after the charter.

We do advise that you take out your own travel insurance to cover your own circumstances.
